Eclectic Flash

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

WE ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR SUBMISSIONS.

We accept poetry, prose, fiction, nonfiction, short script, essay, experimental, literary, horror, science fiction, contemporary, postmodern, and anything else you can think of. Regardless of style or genre, if it is 1,000 words or fewer and well polished, submit it. We prefer previously unpublished material.

We will never change or rewrite any part of your work for content, but we do reserve the right to make minor corrections to spelling, punctuation, and grammar. However, we don’t like to do even this, so make sure the work you send is well polished and free of typos.

You may send one piece, prose or poetry, of up to 1,000 words per submission, but we do accept multiple submissions. Just send one at a time. We also accept simultaneous submissions as long as you are sure to notify us if your piece is accepted elsewhere before we reply to the submission.

Submit your piece in .doc or .rtf format. For prose, we prefer a nontraditional format: single space, no indent, one space between paragraphs, 12 point Arial font. For poetry, we will do our best to adhere to your poem’s formatting.

Please include your name as you would like it to appear and a fewer-than-100-word bio written in third person in the attachment with your submission. We prefer short bios that show your personality, rather than long lists of publication credits.

By submitting your work to Eclectic Flash you are agreeing to allow us to publish your work electronically and in print in the issue upcoming at the time of submission and, if selected, in the yearly best-of anthology. You are also agreeing to allow Eclectic Flash to keep a copy of your work in our site archives. Authors retain all other rights to their work.

We are not currently a paying market, but we are working hard to change that.

Response time is generally about one week.
